Astrological Luminaries with guest Mark Jones
Psychosynthesis therapist and counselling astrologer Mark Jones speaks to Frank Clifford.
It is actually quite challenging being alive, being a human, living for many decades, endeavouring in multiple arenas of human expression, and then you grow old and get increasingly rickety and then you die.
I mean, it is not an easy ride, is it? So, of course there would be challenging [chart] signatures because life is challenging, but the idea that you would single any of them out to demonise or judge them in writing or in consultation is abhorrent to me – because it is a rejection of the value of human experience, suffering and life.
The Moon’s Nodes
Do I think the Moon’s Nodes are incredibly useful for a deep dive into the personal dynamics of a chart? I do. I focus on their placements, their rulers, planets conjunct or square. I think [adding] Pluto and Uranus helps to create a perspective, so that the very personal dynamic of the evolving Moon is held with some deeper transpersonal dynamics in a chart. There was this question of, ‘What is the soul’s purpose alongside all of that?’ What the Nodes do is allow you to have a route into something deeper in the chart without just getting confused by the whole picture.
Mark Jones is an astrologer, teacher, and consultant who works with clients and students worldwide. Mark’s first book, Healing the Soul: Pluto, Uranus and the Lunar Nodes, explains in detail his astrological method. His second book, The Soul Speaks: the Therapeutic Potential of Astrology, fuses Mark’s experience as a transpersonal psychotherapist with astrology to outline the transformative potential of an astrological reading.
